Former Super Eagles and Borussia Dortmund forward, Victor Ikpeba Nosa, has thrown his support behind his ex-teammate, Finidi George, to take over as Nigeria's permanent coach following Jose Peseiro's tenure, reports Soccernet.ng.

Finidi, currently the head coach of Enyimba FC and previously an assistant during AFCON 2023, assumed the interim role for Nigeria's recent friendly matches. Despite his short tenure, Finidi led the team to a convincing victory over Ghana in Morocco.

Speaking on SuperSports' Monday Night Football show, Ikpeba expressed pride in Finidi's leadership and hinted at positive feedback from players. While acknowledging his advisory role and not being the decision-maker, Ikpeba indicated that the tide seems to be turning in Finidi's favor for the permanent coaching position.
