The Sultanate officially announced the commencement of Ramadan after confirming the sighting of the Crescent moon. Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar, shared the news on Twitter, stating, "The Sultanate has confirmed a single sighting claim, and His Eminence the Sultan will soon make an announcement. Ramadan Mubarak." This declaration marked the beginning of Ramadan 1445 AH, initiating the month-long fasting period observed by Muslims.

Speaking in Sokoto, Abubakar explained that the decision followed reports of the moon sighting, signaling the end of Shaaban 1445 AH. He urged Muslims to dedicate the holy month to worshipping Allah and to pray for the well-being of leaders and the country. Additionally, the Sultan called on the affluent to support the less fortunate, aiming to alleviate the effects of hardship.

As Ramadan begins, Muslims worldwide embark on a spiritual journey involving fasting, prayer, and acts of kindness. Abubakar extended his wishes, saying, "I wish all Muslims Ramadan Kareem," emphasizing the significance of unity, compassion, and devotion during this sacred period.
