Special investigator Jim Obazee has returned with damning allegations, recommending charges against senior officials from the past administration, including former cabinet secretary Boss Mustapha and ex-central bank chief Godwin Emefiele.

The investigator asserts their involvement in a daring and relentless heist, purportedly removing $6.23 million in cash from the Central Bank of Nigeria's vault just two weeks before the February 25 presidential election.

Obazee, despite his controversial past, detailed the alleged theft in an undated memorandum to President Bola Tinubu, highlighting CCTV footage capturing the illicit act. The investigator suggests charges for forgery, concealment, stealing, conspiracy, and fraud against Mustapha, Emefiele, and others involved, emphasizing an ongoing probe into CBN's actions under Emefiele's leadership.

The charges represent a significant development, potentially marking the first in Nigerian history against a former president. Both Mustapha and Emefiele declined to comment on the unfolding story
