President Bola Tinubu has removed Ahmed Kuru from his position as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

Gbenga Alade has been appointed as Kuru's successor, with the president also approving the selection of a new management team, including Aminu Ismail, Adeshola Lamidi, and Lucky Adaghe as AMCON executive directors.

The decision, which brings an early end to Kuru's second term, aims to enhance the efficiency and transparency of AMCON operations, aligning with Tinubu's commitment to revitalize the nation's financial system.

The appointments are pending senate confirmation.
