President Bola Ahmed Tinubu paid tribute to the 17 officers and soldiers who tragically lost their lives in Delta State two weeks prior. "The four gallant Officers have been accorded the Award of Member of the Order of Niger (MON). The thirteen courageous soldiers who also lost their lives have been Awarded the Officer of the Federal Republic Medal," President Tinubu disclosed, his voice resonating with reverence and gratitude for their service.

Describing the deceased personnel as "patriots, brave and noble men," Tinubu emphasized their dedication to defending Nigeria against both internal and external threats. "Their sacrifice will be remembered and honored for generations to come," he remarked, highlighting the bravery and commitment displayed by Lt. Colonel Ali and his comrades.

Before the tragic incident, Lt. Colonel Ali had been instrumental in combating terrorism and insurgency in the North East and North West regions, demonstrating unwavering commitment to his military duties. President Tinubu, speaking on behalf of a grateful nation, ensured that their legacy would forever be enshrined among the pantheon of Nigerian heroes.

As a token of appreciation and support, President Tinubu announced significant initiatives aimed at assisting the families of the deceased. "The Federal Government will provide a house in any part of our country to each of the families of the four officers and 13 soldiers," he declared, ensuring that their loved ones would have a secure home. Additionally, scholarships up to the university level were approved for all the children of the fallen heroes, ensuring their educational aspirations would be fulfilled.
