In preparation for the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the Federal Government has announced the declaration of Tuesday and Wednesday, April 9 and 10, 2024, as public holidays.

This announcement came from the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement released by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Aishetu Ndayako, on Sunday.

The decision aims to allow Nigerians to observe and commemorate the festival with their families and communities. Eid-el-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting, and is celebrated with prayers, feasting, and acts of charity.

The public holidays provide an opportunity for Muslims across the country to participate in religious activities and spend quality time with loved ones.
