One of the individuals sought in connection with the passing of the late Nigerian artist Mohbad, Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, is now in police custody, according to the Nigerian Police. They stated that "He is currently assisting with the ongoing investigation."

Sam Larry issued a press statement today recounting a previous incident. He stated that two years ago, he had paid N2 million to an artist named Ileri for a performance at his mother's annual remembrance concert in Ikorodu. However, Ileri failed to appear, claiming illness. When Sam Larry requested a refund, Ileri allegedly cited financial losses due to an NDLEA raid and his departure from Marlian Records. Despite an argument and a friend's assurance that he would repay, Ileri never refunded the money.

Sam Larry expressed his frustration and revealed he had since moved on. He traveled to Kenya to find a new African act for his mother's concert. He also clarified that he was unaware of the circumstances surrounding Mohbad's death and had no knowledge of the musician's whereabouts or activities related to the incident.
