The Federal Government has announced a significant salary increase ranging from 25% to 35% for civil servants under six Consolidated Salary Structures, effective from January 1st, 2024.
This decision, disclosed by Emmanuel Njoku, Head of Press at the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC), comes just ahead of the 2024 Workers’ Day celebration.
The salary structures covered by the increment include CONPSS, CONRAISS, CONPOSS, CONPASS, CONICCS, and CONAFSS. Notably, employees in the tertiary education and health sectors had already received raises under CONUASS, CONTISS, CONPCASS, CONTEDISS, CONMESS, and CONHESS.
Additionally, pensioners on defined benefits schemes linked to these structures will also see an increase of 20% to 28%.
