Sports 2015 AFCON Qualifiers: Ghana interim coach shocked at Super Eagles poor performance

Black Stars of Ghana interim coach, Maxwell Konado has expressed shock at the poor performance of the Super Eagles at the ongoing 2015 Africa Nations Cup qualifying campaign.

The Super Eagles are currently third in their group and in danger of not qualifying for the Nations Cup tournament, unless they win their two remaining matches in the qualifiers.

However, the Ghanaian is optimistic of Nigeria scaling the hurdle if the technical crew can work on the mental strength of the players to achieve positive results in remaining games.

“It’s the biggest surprise of the series after winning the nations cup, we were not expecting that Nigeria will be this low before another tournament and we think that qualification should have been much easier than what Nigeria is going through right now” Kondao told footballlive.ng

“Countries like Ghana, Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire and Cameroon, you cannot predict what they can do at any point in time and that is possible but they but must work hard mentally because that is where I think the problem lies and if they can be able to sort that out then why not, Nigeria is always a power house in African football”
