Each member of the squad was given a three-bedroom bungalow over the weekend.

According to CompleteSports, the houses are located at Ikot Ekpene, a border town between Akwa Ibom and Aba in Abia State. All documents relating to ownership of the houses have also been given to the players.

“We have received the houses promised us by the (Akwa Ibom) state government for winning the Federation Cup last year,” one of the players, Johnson Olewezi, told Completesportsnigeria.com on Sunday morning.

“That was on Friday and I’m personally happy about it and grateful to the governor,” Olewezi, a former (now defunct) Dolphins of Port Harcourt midfielder said.

Spokesman of the Promise Keepers, Uwem Ekoh, also confirmed the development.

“The houses as promised by the governor to the players for winning last year’s Federation Cup have been given out to the beneficiaries,” he said.

He also disclosed that what remains now, is the N2m each the governor promised the players.
