Luis Suarez has admitted that it was "hard to face the truth" after his biting incident on Italy's Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Suarez who is currently serving his ban for the incident,said that it was difficult for him to take in that he had erred.
The Uruguayan nevertheless made a big money move to Barcelona in the summer,but he is yet to make an appearance for the Catalans as his four-month ban will elapse next week.
"I found it hard to take in and to realise what I had done," Suarez said.
"I'm only human and sometimes it's hard to face the truth. I didn't want to listen to anybody, or speak to anybody. I didn't want to accept it."
On his comeback to international football,Suarez netted two goals in Uruguay's 3-0 victory over Oman.
