The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said the N65 charge for every fourth withdrawal carried out by a bank customer in other banks was introduced to address financial fraud in the system, according to THISDAY online.

Speaking at a training session for technology journalists, organised by the E-Payment Providers Association of Nigeria (E-PPAN) in Lagos, Head, Payment Systems and Oversight at the CBN, Musa Itopa Jimoh, said several measures put in place by the apex regulator to check financial fraud are beginning to yield fruitful results, in spite of the market challenges.
The apex bank also stated that cases of bank fraud in Nigeria have reduced to a large extent due to several measures it put in place.
He said complaints received from bank customers by the apex bank are usually treated diligently, adding that this has led to the resolution of customers’ complaints in relation to the use of ATM across the country.
