Cross River State's Governor Ben Ayade has announced that he is going to make a new appointment of 100 aides from Ikom Local Government Area of the state.

This is despite the public outcry over his recent appointment of thousands of aides in one fell swoop.

According to him, the exercise was for wealth creation and poverty alleviation.

“Instead of shrinking, we are expanding government to take the people out of poverty and a way of getting the people out of recession.”

He spoke on Friday while taking over the keys of Ikom Township Stadium, promising more appointments for the people in that area.

This, exactly is the problem. Expansion and large size of government comes with waste and gross corruption.
