Nigeria - The Delta State tribunal has dismissed the petition of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), O'tega Emerhor, challenging the victory of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to the tribunal the petition against declaration of Okowa as Governor as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for lack of merit.
It said the petition was bound to fail ab initio and accordingly dismissed it.
The petition of Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, the Delta State governorship candidate of the Labour Party was also dismissed.
The tribunal also awarded costs of N50,00 each against each of the two petitioners.
