According to BBC, Egyptian security forces have been targeted in a wave of attacks across the country.
5 Egyptian soldiers who were sitting in a car at a checkpoint north of the Suez Canal city of Ismailiya were shot dead by unknown gunmen. A car bomb also struck offices of the security forces in southern Sinai, while a rocket attack hit a satellite station in a Cairo suburb.
Two people are reported to have died in the car bomb attack in the town of al-Tour, and another 48 injured.
Security forces have been the frequent victims of attacks in northern Sinai.
