Sports EPL: Manchester City beaten, Arsenal wins

Defending champions of the English Premier League, Manchester City suffered their second defeat of the season, after going down 2-1 against West Ham.

It was the type of game that things didn't go the way of Manuel Pellegrini's team, despite their efforts.

Coming back from a difficult trip in midweek against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League, somehow that sapped the grit from their squad.

Morgan Amalfitano was well placed at the right angle when he tapped in a nice cut back from Valencia.

West Ham were confident and didn't fret much, knowing the strength of their opposition.

A second goal was added when Diafra Sakho towered high above Gael Clichy to head in past Joe Hart, with the goal given after the match officials confirmed that it had crossed the line.

City were a bit unlucky in the game, first was Kun Aguero who struck the upright, then Yaya Toure too whose shot bounced off from the same side of the post

David Silva pulled one back for City, skillfully curling the ball with his left foot past Adrian.

But it was too late for any comeback, as West Ham held off any late onslaught seeing off the victory.

Meanwhile, Arsenal secured a 2-0 away win over Sunderland to make it two wins in two matches.

A goal in each half from Alexis Sanchez powered Arsene Wenger's team to victory at the Stadium of light.
