In a bid to address the huge housing deficit in the country, the federal government has approved a $300m loan facility (about N48 billion) to be accessed from the International Development Association (IDA) to boost mortgage financing.
The approval, given yesterday at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, followed a memo presented by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
