Sports FIFA yet to pay Nigeria its $9million World Cup entitlement

Four months after the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil, Nigeria is yet to get $9million from World football governing body, FIFA.

The Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) is entitled to get the FIFA largesse as its subvention for taking part at the tournament in Brazil.

However reports have emerged that part of the reasons why the NFF are yet to get its share of the FIFA bounty was as a result of the leadership tussles in the past few months.

FIFA is believed to have been skeptical over who they were interfacing with and wanted to be sure there is stability before releasing any of its resources to Nigeria.

President of the NFF, Amaju Pinnick has written to FIFA in order to notify them that normalcy has been restored at the Glass House, and that there are no more frictions over who was calling the shots at the NFF.

Nigeria will even not get all the money, because the NFF are highly indebted to a lot of people, and part of the money will go into settling the debts.

Out of the $9million: money for tax, feeding, accommodation, transportation, security and sundry costs, all which were provided for the Nigerian delegation at the World Cup FIFA, will be deducted.

Also the NFF will have to pay back the government a loan of $3.8million they took to settle the Super Eagles for the payment of their appearance fees at the World Cup.

However, what is certain is that the new NFF board will have enough money to execute some of their programmes after paying off the bills.
