Sports Fulham force Man Utd to a 2-2 draw

Manchester United didn't do their season a world of good, drawing 2-2 against Fulham at home to further lose grounds on the top of the league.

David Moyes could be wondering what they have to do to be in winning ways, drawing the game with almost the last kick of the game.

Coming up against the bottom placed team,it looked on paper as a game that was theirs for the taking, but they laboured for the entire 90 minutes and would be disappointed to only take a point.

Lewis Holtby picked out a pass to Steve Sidwell who was making a run into the box,and needed just a touch to beat a rooted David De Gea,giving his side the lead.

Fulham lined up bodies across goal with Manchester United lacking the needed penetration to breach the visitor's defence.

Manchester United accounted for as much as 46 crosses in the first half, but all missed their intended targets with Fulham defending astutely.

Fulham could have been two up going into the break, countering United but Kieran Richardson ballooned his effort when played clear on goal.

It continued like that into the second half, with Manchester United pressing and persistently knocking for a goal.

Mark Stekelenburg was immense for Fulham and made save after save to repel United's onslaught on his goal.

United seemed to have found a way, with Fulham's defence finally giving in after Robin Van Persie turned in a Juan Mata's shot to draw his side level at 1-1.

It looked as the comeback kings in the era of Sir Alex Ferguson, had suddenly found their charming luck, scoring a second goal just a minute after the equaliser.

Michael Carrick's shot at the edge of the box deflected into the net to put them 2-1 up and send the Old Trafford crowd in delirium.

United looked to have secured the win,but there was to be a heartbreak as Darren Bent headed in a rebound just in the death of time to secure a precious point for Fulham.

The implication of the draw is that Manchester United are in danger of missing out of next season Champions League,as they are currently nine points behind Liverpool who are fourth.

With their next game away at Arsenal,it couldn't get any worse for David Moyes.
