Joe Sample, a founding member of The Crusaders known for writing chart hits like 'Street Life' has died at the age of 75.
The singer's manager, Patrick Rains has revealed that Sample died of drug complications due to lung cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Sample's final album, Live, which featured Crawford and his son on bass, was released in 2012.
