Honourable Chidi LLyod, majority leader, Rivers state house of Assembly who is been detained for his role in the rivers state house of assembly fight on 9th July has been granted bail. Hon. Lloyd is to be tried on a six-count charge of conspiracy, attempted murder, assault and malicious damage.

Justice Charles Wali of Ahoada High Court in Ahoada East Local Government Area put the bail at 5 million naira. Other bail terms include one surety who owns landed property within the jurisdiction of the court. The Judge has asked that the police do not re-arrest him.

Chidi LLyod would be in court today, where Justice Nyordee will be ruling on whether or not it was ripe for the Attorney-General of the State (AGS), Worgu Boms, to take over and continue with the prosecution of Lloyd in the six-count charge preferred against him.

The Obuah led faction of the PDP has expressed shock and utter disappointment on the bail granted Lloyd.

The GU Ake led faction of the PDP hailed the judgment that gave bail to Lloyd.

it's just bail, the charges haven't been dropped

But he goes scot free if the bail is paid, no? And the Judge orders the police not to re-arrest him....this is just the same as releasing him as if he's done nothing.
