Sports Keshi should stop using Mikel Obi as Nigeria's creative midfielder- Babangida

Former Super Eagles winger, Tijani Babangida has advised Stephen Keshi to stop using John Mikel Obi as the team's playmaker, as the Chelsea player cannot properly function in that role.

Mikel has been receiving so much criticisms for his inability to step up and invent something in the middle of the park for the Super Eagles when on national duty.

The 40 year old football administrator admonished Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi to look inwards for a true creative midfielder.

““You can’t use Mikel in a team as a playmaker; it’s never going to work and so we just have to find another player that will connect between the midfield and the attack. Nigeria has lots of players and we just have to put them in the position that suits them” he told footballlive.ng.

“I have been in the league and I see a lot of good players in the league who are playing such positions”
