Lion roars as Gunmen on Sunday evening killed three policemen attached to Ogba Zoo and Nature Park in Benin and abducted the head of the zoo, Dr Andy Ehanire, who is a brother of the Minister of State for Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire.
The three policemen were reportedly killed at about 6pm and disarmed by the attackers
The attack caused panic attacks the zoo with fun seekers, who had come to enjoy their Sunday evening, scampered for safety.
An eye witness said the Lions were roaring while some tourists were unaware of what was going on at the security gate of the zone.
Edo State police spokesman, DSP Moses Nkombe, who confirmed the killings and abduction on the phone, said the situation has been brought under control.
DSP Nkombe said the attackers would soon be arrested as security has been beefed up in the area.
He assured members of the public that the zoo is safe for fun seekers.
