The new face of Lagos state will be determined starting this year since the beginning of Ambode's regime.

How will the new government in power react to the new dynamics that will confront the state this year is the major topic on the lips of every Lagosians

Here are some predictions of things that Lagosians want to see as from 2016 in the State.

1. Infrastructural development: Ambode should be able to touch and focus certain places and areas such as Ajegunle and some local areas in the state rather than metropolitan cities such as Ikoyi and Lekki.

With a capital expenditure put at N383,678 billion, Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, said:

“We plan to use the 2016 budget to strategically build new infrastructure, while we continue to maintain existing ones’’.

"The administration is already making good its plans with the planned construction of a fly over on the notorious Ajah roundabout."

2. Effective Traffic management: The Lagos state government and is team should work assiduously to face this menace in 2016 as work fully resume. Traffic gridlock is one major common event in the state that needs the hands of an effective and efficient management team to handle.

3. Cater for the Rural-Urban Migration: As usual more people will arrive in Lagos in 2016 than they have done in previous years. As Lagos is perceived to provide the opportunities, the city will continue to be the destination of choice by Nigerians.

4. Encourage Entrepreneurs: As job loss continues to plague both public and private sector, more people will look inwards to create employment through entrepreneurship. Also, the economic implication of oil and cut in Salaries of civil servants whereas some states find it difficult to actually pay the stipulated minimum wages in 2015 should be the main concern of the economic team of the State.

5. Security: For the over population threat, crime is perceived to be constant. Towards the end of the year, 2015 Lagos beefed up security in the state with the provision of police equipment.

This had resulted from a spate of violent crime that had gripped the city. Lagosians should expect more police presence given the global importance of Lagos.

6. Akinwunmi Ambode should work excellently as people (Lagosians) are really expecting his tenure to be far more better than Fashola's administration.

In your own view, what do you think may change in Lagos this year?
