Sports Maybe Nigeria no longer need a coach: NFF invites 23 players for Nations Cup qualifiers

Twenty three players have been called up by the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) for the 2015 Nations Cup qualifiers against Congo DR and South Africa.

The move by the NFF is a latest indication that there hasn't been a headway in the contract negotiations with Stephen Keshi to resume as the Super Eagles coach.

There are reports that the NFF are considering hiring an interim coach for the short-term until a substantive coach is appointed.

Both Keshi and the NFF have been locked in contract talks, with the two parties failing to reach a favourable aggrement for all.

The NFF are not giving anything to chance, and have now gone ahead to invite players for the double qualifiers next month.

Premier League trio Victor Moses, Brown Ideye and Peter Odemwingie were all left out from the team.

While Nnamdi Oduamadi,Omatsone Aluko and Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi have all been recalled to the Nigerian team.

There is still no place in the team for Villarreal striker,Ikechukwu Uche.

But worth commending,is the invitation of five players from the Nigerian league.
