Nigerian Naira appreciated 0.16% against United States dollar sixty one business days after the Central Bank of Nigeria removed peg on the Nation's currency.

The currency closed 315 naira to a United States dollar at the Inter-bank market.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s Monetary Policy Committee on Monday begun its two-day bi-monthly meeting to review the state of the economy. Nigerians and Investors are keeping a close tab on the outcome of the meeting as the monetary react to the economic slowdown and dollar shortage.

The Finance Minister, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun on Monday also urged the Central Bank to lower interest rates so that the government can borrow domestically to boost the economy, which is stuck in recession, without increasing its debt-servicing costs.
