The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ekiti State is to organise a seminar to educate corps members on ways to avoid substance use and abuse.

The agency’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Peter Njoku, announced this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Ado-Ekiti.

Njoku said that the decision to organise the programme was to educate youths on the dangers inherent in smoking Indian hemp and use of other prohibited drugs.

He said that the seminar would last for two months and held in the state capital, Ado-Ekiti, and the headquarters of the 16 local government areas of the state.

Njoku said that the agency had equipped its officials with basic skills and knowledge on the `dos` and `don’ts’ of living a successful life, which they would be expected to impact on the corps members.

Njoku warned youths to desist from the habit of taking hard drugs or face the wrath of the law, stressing that the habit was dangerous to their lives.
