Sports No Ethiopian deal for Stephen Keshi

Ethiopia has distanced themselves from hiring former Super Eagles coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi as their manager.

Keshi was linked with the job of managing the Ethiopian national team, but it has emerged that there is no truth in the speculation.

Although Keshi refused to be non-committal whether he was on the verge of signing for Ethiopia.

"Ethiopia is a great country that's all. No more comments," Keshi told AfricanFootball.com

However, an Ethiopian journalist Taddeshp Mandefro insisted that the Ethiopian Football Association(EFA) is yet to receive an application from Keshi, adding that the job of the present coach, Mariano Barreto is still safe.

"I spoke with the EFA president Juneidin Basha yesterday (Sunday) on the report of Keshi taking over and he said the EFA have not received any application from Keshi for the EFA job," Mandefro said.

"Mariano Barreto remains the coach of the Ethiopian national team. Even though he is not doing too well right now, the EFA have not mentioned anything about sack."
