The well anticipated 3rd edition of the annual Nollywood Health Convention and Awards has been scheduled to hold on December 7, 2014 at the National Theatre, Iganmu in Lagos.
The event is powered by Saving Life for Africa Diabetes Foundation (SLAD) in collaboration with the Victor Osuagwu-led Lagos State chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and kicks off at 2pm.
Speaking on the objective of the convention, Nollywood filmmaker and founder of SLAD, Obi Madubogwu said the convention aims to promote the health and well-being of Nigerians especially residents of rural and urban dwellers.
President Goodluck Jonathan has been announced as the convention's special guest of honour.
"As entertainers and mirrors of the society, we want to drastically help reduce the mortality rate of all and sundry, especially the less privileged in our community. We are encouraging and calling on Nigerians, mostly our members to come out on December 7, to check and know their health status. We have gathered a team of medical experts to assist us in doing this. This convention on health is for all and sundry,” he said.
Entertainers expected to add spice to the event are 2Face, Tiwa Savage, Timaya, Iyanya, Mr. Raw, Flavour, Phyno, Olamide, Kcee and several others.
