According to Nigerian news site Sahara Reporters, Oronto Douglas who was born in 1966 died at the state house clinic of cancer related complication.
He was a lawyer and came to national prominence as an environmental activist highlighting the issues of oil exploration in the Niger Delta region. He was also lawyer to Ken Saro-Wiwa
Until his death, Ornoto Douglas worked tirelessly for the re-election bid of the president.
