Charity Uzoechina, a Chrsitian, and daughter of a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God had allegedly been abducted by the Emir of Nupe in Bida, Niger State, and allegedly forced to convert to Islam.

Before her abduction Charity was a student of Federal Polytechnic Bida, and has always been a Christian.

The father of Charity, Pastor Uzoechina said he had made several efforts to get her daughter back, including hiring a lawyer to challenge the power of the Emir to hold her daughter hostage.

The Emir Sharia court in the State had ruled that Charity be placed under the custody of the Emir for her safety, because she had changed her religion.

Pastor Uzoechina said his daughter cannot change to Isalm, and that she had been forced to embrace the religion against her own wish, just like some other Christian women who had suffered the same fate in the hand of the Emir, and the Sharia law.
