Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) who were earlier scheduled to meet President Goodluck Jonathan today refused to honor the meeting asking for more time.

One of the governors told Saharareporters that they sent word to the President that they have important state matters to attend in their respective states for at least one week.

According to Sahara reporters, President Jonathan had to postpone the meeting till next Tuesday in deference to the governors.

The chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih confirmed the postponed, in a chat with reporters Anenih said the peace talks, scheduled to continue Tuesday in Abuja, were postponed at the request of the aggrieved governors of the party who stormed out of the venue of the party’s special national convention on Saturday.

Anenih said that the peace talks with the aggrieved governors would now continue Tuesday, next week, after selected party leaders would have met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday as part of wider consultations demanded by parties to the crisis.
