PDP senators are not happy about the continued chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee by Senator Andy Uba, who recently defected to the APC, a report from Punch says.
The senators are expected to stage a protest soon, to put Senate President Bukola Saraki under pressure to remove the senator.
They want Uba to be replaced by another PDP member in the Red Chamber.
The committee, which exists in both the Senate and House of Representatives, is the only committee in the National Assembly recognised by the Constitution and is traditionally headed by a member of the opposition.
The duties of the committee include monitoring transparency and accountability in the management and expenditure of public funds by ministries, department and agencies among other things.
