President Goodluck Jonathan has waded into the controversy that engulfed the Super Eagles team in Brazil and has promised to pay their outstanding bonuses.

Reports emerged today that the Super Eagles refused to train on Thursday evening protesting that they be paid $30,000 for qualifying for the second round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament.

Just as was the case when the president of Ghana had to intervene and airlift $3million to the Black Stars team in Brazil, president Jonathan has now assured his own team that they will be paid all their entitlements.

The players have now left their base in Campinas and are en-route Brasilia venue of their game against France on Monday.

Cameroon was the first African team to protest over bonus allowances with Ghana following suit after they threatened not to play their last game against Portugal on Thursday, which they eventually lost.

The Super Eagles were billed not to have received any money for losing to Argentina as the standard procedure is $10,000 for every win and $5,000 for any draw, but the players objected and demanded to be paid $30,000 in full for making the knockout stages of the World Cup.
