Sports President Jonathan to speak with each Super Eagles player before the game against Argentina

In a bid to show support and encourage the Super Eagles,Nigeria's president Goodluck Jonathan will before the game against Argentina speak with each member of the team.

Nigeria will be playing against Argentina in Port Alegre with a point enough to qualify the Super Eagles for the last 16.

President Jonathan stayed up awake to watch the Super Eagles defeat Bosnia 1-0 in their last game on Saturday night.

Chairman of the NFF media and publicity committee,Emeka Inyamah confirmed that the President would have a conversation with all the players to wish them well before they take to the pitch against Argentina.

‘’Everything is going well to ensure that the Eagles lack nothing. The President will speak to them and the President of the NFF is also marking his birthday on Wednesday. He too wants the Eagles to do well for a good birthday present”, Inyamah said.

Olusegun Obasanjo is the last Nigerian president to have a telephone conversation with the Super Eagles team at a World Cup tournament,putting a call to the team before they took to the pitch against Sweden at the 2002 Korean/Japan World Cup.
