The new Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Tunde Ogunsakin, has threatened to deal with any person or group of persons that constitutes security threat to the residents of the state.
He also instructed that organisers of all public gathering of any sort should obtain permission from the police through writing, five days before the event. .Ogunsakin was posted to the troubled state two weeks ago following the transfer of the Commissioner of Police, Sunday Mbu, whose tenure was marred by controversies. Mbu had come under serious allegations from Rivers’ Governor Rotimi Amaechi that the former had become partisan, working to please the Presidency in the face-off between Aso Rock and Port Harcourt.
