Sports Samson Siasia Loses Shehu Abdullahi To Injury Ahead Of Congo Clash

Shehu Abdullahi has expressed disappointment following an injury that ruled out of Nigeria’s all-important CAF U-23 Championship second leg qualifier against Congo.

The Nigerian international picked up an injury while on a pre-season duty for his club side Uniao da Maderia on Sunday.

The defensive midfielder or right fullback was to have joined the Dream Team VI training camp in Port Harcourt on Monday.

"I am out of the U23 game because I am injured. I suffered a hamstring injury today (Sunday) while in action for my team in the final game of the pre-season, which we lost 2-1 to Boavista," Shehu told AfricanFootball.com

"I am disappointed with the injury because my mind was on the game, I have no choice but to pull out.

“I will communicate to the coach and another official of the U23 team to tell them of the situation."

He was substituted in the 82nd minute of the game due to the injury. African Football
