Politics Stella Oduah to Spend N750million on Vehicles in 2014

While Nigerians are yet to recover from the N255 million bullet proof car scandal that rocked the aviation Ministry and the polity at large in 2013, Nigeria's aviation Minister, Princess Stella Oduah is set to spend N750million on new cars.

According to the Aviation ministry's budget for 2014, Oduah is intends to spend N250million on eight operational vehicles for the Accident Investigation Bureau, AIB, and another N500million to buy some trucks for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA.

Other items on the Aviation Ministry's budget for 2014 include; N137million for foreign trips, N100million on consultants for the controversial Aerotropolis project, N20million on other types of consultancies and another N425million on consultancy for institutional reforms, legal services and commercial reforms.

N200million is budgeted for internal access roads in Nigerian airports, N100million for Bilateral Air Services Agreements, BASAs while the sum of N100million is expected to be spent on security gateways on express roads. N100million will be spent on airport toll gates and another N100million to paint and repair runways.

N13million is budgeted for refreshment and meals and N9million for publicity. The aviation ministry is expected to spend a total of N26billion on capital projects and over N6billion on recurrent expenditure for a total budget N32.3billion.

Meanwhile, the aviation ministry resumed the collection of N150m monthly from NCAA.
