Sports Super Eagles update: Oboabona back in training with other players

The Super Eagles team was given something to cheer about with the news that defender Godfrey Oboabona has commenced training alongside his teammates at the 2014 World Cup tournament.

The Rizespor defender was substituted in Nigeria's 0-0 draw against Iran after picking up an injury in the game,and has been recuperating since then.

A statement from the Super Eagles camp by team media officer Ben Alaiya, said that the former Sunshine Stars player has been passed fit by the team's physios.

The team on Monday left their Campinas base for Porto Alegre venue of the game against Argentina in company of Nigeria Football Federation Vice Chairman, Mike Umeh, and House of Reps members, led by the Vice Chairman, House Committee on Sports,Ayo Omidiran.

Also,skipper of the team Joseph Yobo, was quoted as saying he preferred a win on Wednesday than the 100 caps he will attain if he plays in the game against Argentina.

“It is good news that I will reach that milestone, but what is uppermost in my mind is for the team to win and for us to advance to the next stage.

“The rest will be a bonus,” Yobo said.
