Sports Super Falcons Need To Improve Before the FIFA Women's World Cup - Evelyn Nwabuoku

Following Nigeria's victory at the African Women's Championship last week, Super Falcons skipper Evelyn Nwabuoku believes that they can do well at the FIFA Women's World Cup if they get the right preparations.

Nigeria on Saturday defeated Cameroon 2-0 to win the AWC title for a record seventh time, and would next year lead Africa's at the World Cup tournament in Canada.

However, Nwabuoku admitted that they still need to improve before the tournament starts next year.

“It is the dream of every player to do well at every tournament they participate in. But the world cup is quite a different kettle of fish; it is not like the women Nations Cup," she was quoted as saying on Vanguard Sports.

“We must have to make improvement to our game. We can’t play the same way we did at the AWC at the world cup. When we go back home we must have to work hard and improve on our game.

“This is where we need the NFF and those concerned to organize friendly games. It is through these games that our coaches will have the opportunity to access the players and correct our mistakes.
