The editor of Footballtips.com, Thomas Rooney, believes that Messi has come to Brazil to practically snatch the cup for his country. Here are the three reasons why he believes the 2014 world cup is Argentina’s by virtue of Messi:
1. Messi has the Magic Touch:
“Two goals in two games - Messi appears to be at his absolute best this summer. He had a quiet season for Barcelona by his standards and now he's making up for it. Fresh, fit and motivated - he's got the magic touch for Argentina.”
2. His Usual Competitors Have Gotten Weaker:
“If Brazil are Argentina's biggest rivals - they needn't be too worried just yet. Neymar and co stuttered to a 0-0 draw with Mexico last time out and weren't exactly convincing in their 2-1 win over Croatia.”
3. It’s Messi’s Destiny to Win
“Many people might not see this as a reason for Messi to be celebrating this summer - but it's his destiny to do so. Arguably the greatest player of this generation - he deserves a World Cup winner's medal.”
