Metro Turkey Alerts FG on Schools, Hospitals Allegedly Owned by Turkish Terrorist Group in Nigeria [PUNCH]

The Turkish government has alerted Nigerian authorities about several schools, hospitals and other institutions owned by a Turkish terrorist group in Nigeria.

According to the Turkish embassy, the institutions were operated by Fethullah Gulen Terrorist Organisation which is allegedly founded by Fethullah Gulen. The Turkish government added that the group was behind the recent military coup in the country.

A document released by the Turkish embassy listed the indicted schools and institutions as Surat Educational Limited, Abuja; Nigerian-Turkish International School, in Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Yobe, Ogun and Lagos; and the Nigerian-Turkish Nile University, Abuja.

Others, according to the embassy, are The Association of Businessmen and Investors of Nigeria and Turkey/Abinat, Abuja and Lagos; Ufuk Dialogue Foundation, Abuja; Nigerian-Turkish Nizamiye Hospital, Abuja; and Vefa Travel Agency, Abuja.

The Turkish government want Nigeria to shut down the institutions.

The Nigerian government promised to make investigations into the matter before acting.
