John Arinze, a 30 year old Masters degree holder in International Business from the Bolton University in the United Kingdom, has been discovered with 2.1 kilograms of methamphetamine by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

The arrest was made during the outward screening of passengers to board the Virgin Atlantic flight to London at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.

The NDLEA reported that four parcels carefully hidden inside Arinze’s luggage had been discovered and tested positive for methamphetamine.

When questioned as to the possession of drugs, Arinze claimed that he had been given the bag by a “friend” who had bought his return ticket to London.

The Chairman of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Gaide, described Arinze’s excuse as disappointing.
