Sports World Cup News: Del Bosque may drop Diego Costa due to injury

Del Bosque - Copy.JPG Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has revealed that he is unsure whether Brazilian-born striker, Diego Costa, will be fit for the World Cup in Brazil next month.

The Atletico Madrid forward, picked up a hamstring injury during his side's 4-1 loss to city rivals, Real Madrid in the Champions League Final on Saturday.

"I'm not sure Costa will make it," Del Bosque told reporters.

"We've still got time but now it's in the hands of the doctors and the medical team. We have to be cautious."

Del Bosque who led Spain to winning the last World Cup in 2010 held South Africa,has a mandate to submit his final 23-man squad for the tournament by 2 June, and may be forced to drop the striker who scored 35 goals in all competition in the 2013/14 season.

Spain will start their campaign against their fellow finalist at the 2010 edition Netherlands on 13 June.
