Super Eagles head coach Stephen Keshi has described Barcelona forward Lionel Messi as a player 'from Jupiter' as he inspired the Argentine side defeat Nigeria 3-2 in their final Group F game.

World Cup debutants, Bosnia-Herzogivina also recorded their first win of the tournament beating Iran 3-1, the result in their game meant little, but the Super Eagles put up a brave performance against one of the favourites to win the World Cup.

The mercurial Lionel Messi scored a brace, as did Nigeria's Ahmed Musa, and Keshi had special praise for the little Argentinean.

"It’s an honour and we’re very happy to reach the next round," Keshi told FIFA.com

"I think we lost the game because we showed them too much respect in the first half.

"After the break we managed to play our game, attacked more, had more possession and were better overall.

"But Argentina are a great team and Messi’s a great player. He’s blessed and there’s no way you can escape him. Messi’s from Jupiter."
