Netherlands secured a 2-0 victory over Chile which ensured that they sealed top spot of group B at the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament.

Playing without the suspended Robin Van Persie Holland had to endure long spells before finding the net.

Both teams having qualified for the last 16 were battling for who would top their group and avoid a possible match up with the host country,Brazil.

Arjen Robben went on a fantastic run from his own half that saw him easily go past Chilean players only for the finish to let him down.

But Chile equally missing Arturo Vidal who was rested in order to avoid picking up a suspension, lacked a bit of drive. However Alexis Sanchez looked threatening each time he was attacking.

Coach Louis Van Gaal's team had to endure till they broke the deadlock through Leroy Fer who headed in the goal after 77minutes.

Memphis Depay sealed the win with a 90th effort to secure the 2-0 victory.

Meanwhile Spain got their first win of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in their last game against Australia.

It was a game that coach Vincent Del Bosque's team finally turned up,having no difficulty to beat the Socceros 3-0.

Goals from David Villa, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata prevented Spain from losing a third successive game and bow out of the World Cup with a win.

One of the highlight of the game was the substitution David Villa whose goal against Australia is his ninth goal in World Cups and his 59th in total for Spain, apparently playing in what is his last game for the La Roja having amassed 97 caps.
