In a harrowing incident on Thursday night, armed kidnappers invaded the Nigeria Post Army Estate in Abuja, targeting the residence of Barrister Cyril Adikwu. Two residents, identified as the wife and an in-law of Barrister Adikwu, fell victim to the abduction.
The attack unfolded around 10:00 p.m. in the Phase 2 area of the estate. According to a neighbour, Austine John, the kidnappers stormed the estate, firing gunshots indiscriminately. In the chaos, the wife and in-law of Barrister Adikwu were abducted, while Adikwu himself managed to escape.
Austine John, a resident and witness, recounted the night's traumatic events. He described the fear that gripped residents as gunshots echoed through the estate. John expressed the gravity of the situation, stating, "This is really traumatising because we could not sleep throughout the night due to fear of the kidnappers coming back. President Tinubu should please help Nigerians put an end to this barbaric act by the kidnappers."
