Bandits who abducted Alhaji Mansoor Al-Kadriyar and his six children have murdered one of the kidnapped individuals. Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, a 400-level student of biological science at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, was tragically killed on Friday. The entire nation mourns as she was laid to rest according to Islamic rites on Saturday.

The kidnappers, who initially demanded a ransom of N60 million, have now increased their demand to a staggering N100 million. This shocking development comes after the family's efforts to negotiate with the abductors. The victims, including Najeebah (500 level, Quantity Surveying) and Nadheerah (300 level, Zoology), were taken from their home in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory on Tuesday night.

The situation escalated further when Alhaji Mansoor's brother, Abdulfatai, who bravely attempted to foil the abduction, was shot dead by the bandits. The death of Nabeeha has ignited outrage on social media platforms, with the hashtag #Najeebahandhersisters trending as users call for increased efforts to rescue the remaining siblings.

In response to the heightened ransom demand, the family and well-wishers have turned to social media to seek financial assistance for the release of the remaining captives. The tragic incident has prompted individuals, foundations, and public figures to come forward in support of the family, urging the authorities to prioritize the rescue mission.

Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami, expressed condolences and called for the safe return of the remaining kidnapped daughters. Social media is flooded with messages of sorrow and solidarity, emphasizing the need for urgent action to end the recurring tragedy of kidnapping in the region.

While the nation mourns Nabeeha's untimely death, there is a collective plea for swift and effective measures to ensure the safe release of the remaining abducted siblings. The police and other security agencies are intensifying efforts to rescue the kidnapped persons, but the unfolding tragedy underscores the pressing need for a comprehensive solution to address the growing menace of insecurity in the country.
