In the run-up to the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the provisional list for the Super Eagles, with Captain Ahmed Musa making a prominent appearance.

Notably absent from the roster is Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, who played a pivotal role in the last AFCON. The list also marks the return of key players such as William Troost-Ekong, Zaidu Sanusi, and Paul Onuachu.

The provisional list, currently at 41 players, is set to be trimmed down to 27 by the January 3, 2024 deadline, allowing four additional players compared to the usual 23. CAF emphasizes that the final selection of these additional players is optional. The AFCON tournament will occur across Ivorian cities from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
