The Chicago State University has released the academic records of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in compliance with a court order.

The District Court of Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division, had ordered the university to release Tinubu's academic records to Atiku Abubakar, Tinubu's main challenger in the 2023 general elections. Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had objected to the release of the records, citing privacy concerns. However, Atiku filed an appeal, leading to the judge's order to release the documents within 48 hours.

The released documents include a true copy of Tinubu's diploma for a Bachelor of Science degree issued in 1979. The university could not locate a true and correct copy of the original diploma but provided documents matching the format of Tinubu's replacement diploma dated June 27, 1997. The release of these records follows controversy over Tinubu's credentials submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
